The Story Behind the Poker Run

What started as a small gathering of friends and off-road enthusiasts, the Poker Run — held every year on the second Saturday of October — has grown into one of Petes Camp’s most anticipated traditions.

The Poker Run began as a fun and adventurous way to bring people together — combining the thrill of exploring the desert with the excitement of the game. Over the years, it has evolved into an event that welcomes both locals and visitors, creating unforgettable memories along the way.

Each year, participants set out across the stunning landscapes surrounding Petes Camp, making designated stops to collect cards, all while enjoying the ride, the scenery, and the community spirit that defines this event.

What makes the Poker Run truly special is not just the game, but the people. Families, friends, and adventurers return year after year, keeping the tradition alive and making it bigger and better every time.
